Job Description
Perform sandblasting operations on steel structures, ensuring proper surface preparation for painting and coating. Operate sandblasting equipment, including compressors, nozzles, and abrasive materials. Follow safety protocols and wear appropriate protective gear. Maintain equipment, troubleshoot issues, and report any malfunctions. Collaborate with project teams to meet project schedules and quality standards. Adhere to company policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
Conduct sandblasting operations on steel structures to prepare surfaces for painting and coating.
Operate and maintain sandblasting equipment, including compressors and nozzles.
Use appropriate abrasive materials for various projects.
Ensure compliance with safety protocols and wear required protective gear.
Troubleshoot equipment issues and report malfunctions promptly.
Collaborate with project teams to ensure timely completion and adherence to quality standards.
Follow company policies and procedures in all operations.Essential Skills
Previous experience in sandblasting or a related field.
Familiarity with construction drawings and basic engineering terminology.
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Ability to multitask effectively.
Interpretation of contract language.
Ability to work independently.
Physical stamina for heavy labor and working in various weather conditions.
Ability to climb ladders up to 10-15ft.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Knowledge of paint preparation and sanding techniques.
Experience in using overhead cranes.

Work Environment
Work in one of the largest single steel fabrication facilities in the Pacific Northwest. The swing shift operates Monday to Thursday from 4:30 pm to 2:30 am, with initial training on the day shift from 6:00 am to 4:30 pm. Enjoy a supportive work environment with all necessary protective gear provided.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tigard, Oregon.Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.50 - $30.00/hr.
