Overview:
Are you a passionate and experienced nursing professional ready to take the next step in your leadership journey? We are seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to help drive clinical excellence and compassionate care.
In this critical leadership role, you will work closely with the Director of Nursing to oversee day-to-day clinical operations, ensure compliance with North Carolina DHHS regulations, and support a culture of high performance and resident-centered care. You'll mentor nursing staff, streamline workflows, and champion best practices across units and shifts-all in a supportive and mission-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the Director of Nursing in managing and coordinating all nursing services within the facility
Ensure compliance with NCDHHS standards and regulatory guidelines
Provide guidance and mentorship to RNs, LPNs, CNAs, and support staff
Monitor resident care plans, quality indicators, and clinical documentation
Support efficient staffing, training, and shift coverage
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to address behavioral health and memory care needs
Lead with a hands-on approach during surveys, audits, and emergencies
Qualifications:
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of North Carolina
Minimum 2 years of experience in long-term care or skilled nursing
Leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred
In-depth knowledge of North Carolina skilled nursing regulations (NCDHHS)
Strong interpersonal, critical thinking, and communication skills
Experience in dementia care, behavioral health, or secured units is a plus
Proven ability to prioritize, multitask, and lead in a dynamic care setting
