Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our team. This role involves operating forklifts to move, load, and unload materials and finished goods, ensuring a clean and safe work environment. The position offers a structured schedule with weekends off, allowing for a great work-life balance.

Responsibilities

Operate forklifts to move, load, and unload materials and finished goods.

Store raw materials and retrieve finished products from designated areas.

Follow pick lists, bills of lading (BOLs), and shipping regulations including DOT, DHS, TSCA, and CT-PAT.

Operate pumps for tanker off-loading and perform task-specific setup and cleanup.

Maintain inventory accuracy and manage returned, damaged, or obsolete materials.

Ensure a clean, safe work environment through the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), daily checklists, and adherence to safety protocols.

Support warehouse organization and participate in 5S, safety, and environmental programs.

Capable of lifting and handling containers up to 75 lbs., 60 lb. bags of pigment, or maneuvering drums up to 900 lbs.Essential Skills

Proficiency in operating forklifts and handling materials.

Experience in inventory management and loading operations.

Ability to follow pick lists and bills of lading.

Knowledge of shipping regulations such as DOT, DHS, TSCA, and CT-PAT.

Capability to perform labor-intensive tasks and willingness to be cross-trained.Additional Skills & Qualifications

General labor experience in production processes.

Familiarity with paint, lacquer, and batch operations.

Work Environment

This role is situated in a manufacturing setting, both inside and outside. You will experience varied temperatures, working in both hot and cold conditions. The facility produces around 500,000 gallons, requiring adaptability to different environments.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of ROANOKE, Virginia.Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.50 - $19.00/hr.
