Position Summary

Leads and manages a team responsible for all aspects of inventory control and managing logistics. Provides insight and guidance to ensure Shipping and Receiving teams support and partner with Sales, Planning, Procurement and Manufacturing to achieve mutual business goals.

Essential Functions

Lead, coach, mentor, train and develop Shipping and Receiving teams.

Partner with Sales and Marketing to forecast demand and develop enhanced forecasting techniques and processes.

Manage plant inventories to a high degree of accuracy.

Manage the finished goods consignment warehouses and integrate the purchased goods business units into the current shipping and receiving processes.

Identify and help maintain optimal inventory levels to maximize inventory turns, reduce exposure of aged inventory, avoid out-of-stocks and reduce inventory costs.

Inspire the Shipping and Receiving teams to achieve their productivity, efficiency and accuracy goals.

Analyze and monitor freight to ensure optimal carrier selection to improve overall service and reduce total freight costs.

Evaluate and interview potential carriers.

Leverage lean and supply chain optimization to drive continuous improvement within the organization

Focus on continual improvement of procedures and processes that will drive and improve inventory accuracy, minimize shrinkage and inventory discrepancies

Obey all safety rules, use caution in work activities, and continuously practice safe behaviors.

Immediately report unsafe conditions/behaviors and work-related injuries to site supervision.

Perform all other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

BA/BS degree or equivalent preferred in Logistics Management, Inventory Control, Business Management, Supply Chain, or related field

10 years + related inventory control and logistics experience in manufacturing work environment; demonstrating progressive increase in responsibilities.

Experience utilizing MES systems

Strong customer-service and solutions-oriented background

Strong cable and wire knowledge, with ability to understand PCA premise and electronic products, materials and pricing

Positive and successful interaction with customers, employees, reps and vendors

Ability to lead and develop direct reports and build effective cross-functional teams.

Possess excellent organizational and time management skills

Superior communication, interpersonal and verbal skills required to interact effectively with all levels of management and individual contributors.

Understanding and ability to perform business, cost/benefit and financial analysis.

Use sound judgment to resolve routine daily issues

Technical and analytical understanding of forecasting, procurement, logistics and inventory systems.

Proficient and strong computer skills working with Microsoft Office, including WORD, Excel, Access and PowerPoint, with ability to learn customized AS-400 systems

Ability to travel occasionally and/or as required

Physical Demands

Must distinguish colors and pass a colorblind test

Finger dexterity and hand/eye coordination for operation of office equipment, including PC

Sitting for periods of time, working at a desk in an office environment

Light lifting, carrying files, supplies, ability to move, carry, lift up to 30 lbs. of objects

Ability to speak and hear customers, vendors, and or other employees via phone or in person

Requires sufficient autonomy, standing and walking to move from one office location to another and throughout the plant
