Atlanta Fork Lifts, Inc. is seeking a dynamic and technically skilled Systems Design Specialist to support the design, development, and deployment of advanced automated material handling solutions. This role is critical to the success of our Systems’ Division, with a strong focus on AMRs, AGVs, AGFs, Collision Avoidance systems, and telemetry. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering, project management, and CAD design, with a desire to work hands-on with cutting-edge technology in warehouse and industrial environments. This role will assist the Sales Engineer with the technical aspects of performing demos for customers and in-house deployments.

Requirements

SKILLS/RESPONSIBILITIES

System Design & Engineering

· Develop comprehensive process maps, workflows, and scopes of work for automation projects.

· Design interaction points and autonomous mapping for automated systems.

· Create and revise CAD layouts in support of automation and racking system designs.

· Collaborate with sales associates and customers to understand application requirements and provide tailored system solutions.

· Provide technical support on the capabilities and integration of AMRs, AGVs, AGFs, collision avoidance, telemetry, and other automation technologies.

Deployment & Commissioning

· Lead onsite deployment of automated systems in coordination with OEMs and customer operations team.

· Install and configure automation system software per OEM specifications.

· Troubleshoot technical issues during deployment and escalate when necessary.

· Support final testing, acceptance, and handover of deployed systems.

Project Management

· Build and maintain detailed project timelines and milestone tracking.

· Coordinate project activities between sales, engineering, customers, and vendors to ensure on-time execution.

· Schedule and facilitate key project meetings and equipment deliveries.

· Manage documentation and updates throughout the life of each project.

Expectations & Additional Duties

· Attend all internal automation sales meetings, technical training, and OEM recommended training.

· Travel to customer sites as needed (mileage reimbursed).

· Adhere to company policies regarding confidentiality and customer communication.

Represent the company professionally and refrain from unauthorized commitments or representations.

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

· Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

· 2+ years of experience in automation, systems integration, or application engineering.

· Proficient in AutoCAD or equivalent design software.

· Strong understanding of warehouse automation equipment and software.

· Familiarity with code writing or scripting languages – (preferred but not required).

· Excellent verbal and written communication.

· Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office, project management tools, and cloud collaboration platforms.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION/LICENSE REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's degree in engineering, Industrial Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)

WORK CONDITIONS / PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand and sit. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
