Position summary
The Human Resources (HR) Intern will support a wide range of HR functions across the network of Community Health Centers, gaining hands-on experience in talent acquisition, onboarding, employee engagement, and HR administration. This internship is designed to provide exposure to the daily operations of a mission-driven healthcare HR department and is ideal for students or recent graduates pursuing a career in human resources, public administration, or healthcare management.

Support onboarding processes by preparing new hire materials
Help maintain employee records and HRIS databases, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
Provide support for HR compliance audits and credentialing file reviews.
Help track and analyze HR metrics such as turnover, recruitment timelines, and training participation.
Attend HR team meetings and contribute to project planning and coordination.
Provide general administrative support such as filing, scanning, and responding to internal inquiries.
Support performance management process through distribution and collection of performance reviews.
Create and/or edit hiring promotional materials
Review and edit job descriptions and postings to ensure consistency throughout the organization Required qualifications
Current enrollment in or recent completion of a Bachelor's or Master's program in Human Resources, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated interest in HR, organizational development, or healthcare administration. Preferred qualifications
Previous internship or work experience in an HR or office setting.
Familiarity with ADP HRIS
Interest in community health, public service, or nonprofit work environments.
Bilingual ability (especially Spanish or Marshallese language ability) Essential competencies

Proficient spelling in English
Ability to work and function independently and within a team
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with people of all backgrounds Physical demands
Able to stand and walk for as much as 8 to 9 hours in a day.
Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend and stretch in order to retrieve supplies and operate standard office equipment.
Ability to lift, hold and carry objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
Ability to communicate and respond to inquiries both in person and over the phone.
Ability to operate a PC / laptop and other office equipment.
