Job Details
Responsibilities:
Under the direction of the OR Director of Nursing or designee functions as the coordinator for the scheduling of all elective OR procedures, Endoscopy procedures, PICC lines, special Radiology procedures, communicate with Dr.'s offices as to scheduling of such procedures.
Schedules all elective surgical procedures, PST appointments, Cardiac Cath Lab procedures, EP procedures
Obtained and enters all necessary booking information from person requesting surgical time and notifies ancillary departments, as necessary.
Ensure that the block time schedule is updated and maintained as set by management
Allows adequate time for procedure according to physicians request and based upon profile.
Follows established guidelines for scheduling the number of rooms on a given day.
Attempts to minimize downtime of rooms between cases
Follows procedures for case cancellation
Prepares tentative schedule
Prepares final version of OR schedule for the following day
Prepares and posts surgery schedule on P drive
Communicates any changes affecting the next day's schedule to Nurse in charge
Maintains surgical log. Compiles statistics and distributes reports as specified
Is proficient in using I.P.
Responsible for observing prescribed standards for confidentiality of records deliberations and decisions made by the Operating Room/Recovery Room administrative staff.
Assists in special projects as assigned by OR Nursing Leadership or designee
Provides communication to Nursing Leadership on problems or concerns in the area of responsibility
Always promotes positive relations when interacting with Dr.'s Office practices
Performs other job-related duties as directed such as charge capture for the OR, and inpatient, outpatient, endoscopy statistics
Coordinates with Radiology as to their needs in OR for procedures Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED; College degree desired.
Excellent clerical skills,
Computer skills
Previous booking experience preferred,
Medical terminology
Posted Salary Range
USD $32.00 - USD $35.00 /Hr.
