The Health & Human Performance group at Triton practices a human-centered approach to design and deliver end-user driven solutions to our customers. Through our work developing products that help people perform challenging jobs in extreme environments, we are focused on physiological monitoring, advanced wearables, trauma and field care medical devices, and novel human-machine interfaces including haptics.

Position Summary

Our Health & Human Performance group is seeking an Electrical/Mechanical Engineer to be part of a multi-disciplinary team working on a wide range of commercial, military, and medical technology projects. This opportunity seeks an individual who combines knowledge, skills, and interests from multiple engineering disciplines and will provide opportunities for growth in a fast-paced environment. Working collaboratively with a diverse group of engineers and scientists to solve technical problems will be a major part of your position. The work will vary but will likely include creating and utilizing integrated prototyping and fabrication projects, data collection systems potentially with automated controls, sensors, software, coding, and data analysis. We seek an individual with a passion for developing advanced technologies and translating them into real-world applications. You will also be asked to contribute to and even lead grantsmanship efforts for future potential projects that will both leverage and expand your capabilities.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will report to a senior engineer in our Health & Human Performance Group and will support team efforts on multiple government and commercial contract R&D programs. Potential collaborative responsibilities include:

Ideate, design, and fabricate mechanical, electrical, and software prototypes, devices, and systems including both virtual/simulated and physical realizations

Evaluate function by designing, creating, and operating hardware and software systems for automated control and measurement

Generate and/or follow test procedures, conduct and document experiments, and produce detailed and summary analyses of results

Write proposals for new projects and produce content for reports and presentations to brief customers

Educational Requirements

BS/MS in Computer Science, Electrical, Mechanical, Biomedical, or equivalent engineering discipline; Multiple Degrees or Minors/Concentrations preferred

5-10 years of experience (employment, projects) in product development, process automation, software development, programming, prototype creation, fabrication techniques, robotics, and/or test and measurement desired

Desired Experience & Skills

Demonstrated ability to work in diverse, cross-disciplinary teams with mutual respect and interest in other technical fields is critical - we are looking to add to our tight-knit group

A willingness to learn and apply new skills and techniques as needed and to teach others as appropriate

Skilled in use of Arduino

Strong technical writing skills

Proficiency with MS Office Suite: Excel, Word, Power Point specifically with advanced Excel skills a plus

Hands-on prototyping, fabrication experience using basic hand tools, machining, soldering, pattern creation, modifications, 3D printing, laser cutting, etc.

Experience with solid modeling/design software (SolidWorks preferred)

Experience with electronic systems including familiarity with schematic / PCB CAD and board creation experience a plus (Altium preferred)

Programming skills (MATLAB, Python, LabVIEW, Arduino, etc.) especially for data collection, visualization, and analysis, coding skills a plus (C++, C#, Linux)

Competency using test equipment including multimeters, oscilloscopes, function generators, power supplies, etc.
