ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND OBJECTIVES:
The Online Student Experience Coordinator is responsible for implementing and enhancing student success and retention initiatives for on-line learning. Through collaborative efforts with Admissions, Advising, Student Success, and eLearning; this position works closely and proactively with students to provide technology and learning support to achieve academic success.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Collect and aggregate data pertaining to student retention, course persistence, grades, and student learning outcomes, and related analytics.
2. Ensure that on-boarding protocols for first-year online students are successfully carried out and maintain lines of communication with related College offices, when required.
3. Assist in the registration of incoming online students and help connect incoming students with support as needed.
4. Serve as point-of-contact for online student questions and inquiries.
5. Collaborate with Enrollment, Advising, Student Success, and eLearning on online retention initiatives, and other strategies for maintaining a high-quality online student experience.
6. Acts as academic advisor for online students, ensuring graduation progress and assisting students with necessary referrals for completion.
7. Manages early alert notifications for identifying early risks for online students and responds to students as needed.
8. Assist the eLearning Director and eLearning Technologist with faculty workshops, training modules, training first-year students, and other efforts to enhance the online student experience.
9. Assess and document student compliance of eLearning policies and procedures.
10. Assists in planning and participating in academic orientation programs, Welcome Weekend activities, Open House, Career and Student Success
workshops/events and other college-wide events to help enhance students’ first experiences of Lackawanna College
11. Provide career development and guidance, networking strategies, interviewing, resume, and cover letter writing skills, portfolio development and using the web for career research.
12. Facilitates College 101 sessions as required
13. Works during high impact periods, which include, but are not limited to: annual forum, graduation, orientations, week prior to the start of the semester, first two weeks of the semester, last two weeks of the semester prior to finals, and advising periods.
14. Other relevant duties are associated with Student Success and the eLearning division.
15. Oversees the eCD COL 101 ONLINE course shell for changes and updates.
16. Institutional training in retention software in all departments/centers

EDUCATION:
– Bachelor’s degree required.
– Coursework in instructional technology, education, student development, and/or higher ed leadership strongly preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
– Minimum two (2) years of experience with online coursework, advising, student support, or related areas.
– Teaching and familiarity with Canvas LMS strongly preferred.
