Responsibilities

The Senior Director of Product Strategy and Global Member Engagement at Quality Matters leads strategic initiatives to strengthen QM's market presence, promote brand awareness, and drive institutional membership growth globally through strategic product management. This position oversees the Director of Creative Services and Brand Experience and the Director of Marketing and Engagement while bringing a fresh perspective from outside traditional marketing backgrounds. This role combines strategic vision with operational excellence to enhance member value, strengthen the QM community, and elevate the organization's brand and market position.

This role offers the opportunity to grow with the organization and to shape its future through the development and implementation of strategic product initiatives.

Essential Duties

In fulfillment of the responsibilities, the Senior Director will facilitate:

Strategic Leadership

Provide vision and direction for QM's product development, member engagement and brand enhancement initiatives

Oversee the development and implementation of institutional engagement strategies

Translate educational market insights into actionable product/service recommendations, marketing and outreach plans, relative to QM's mission and markets

Lead cross-functional initiatives to enhance QM's value proposition for diverse member segments (higher education, K-12, publishers, etc.)

Serve as a key member of the executive leadership team, contributing to organizational strategy and decision-making

Member Experience & Community Building

Design and implement programs that build relationships with educational institutions globally, fostering meaningful connections among QM members and strengthening the QM community

Oversee member onboarding, support, and retention programs to ensure consistently positive experiences

Develop strategies to increase member participation in new and existing products and services, including as part of QM professional development, recognition and certification programs, and conferences

Marketing & Brand Management

Develop value propositions and direct comprehensive marketing efforts promoting QM's quality assurance framework, professional development opportunities, and member benefits

Oversee creation of compelling content demonstrating the impact and value of QM recognitions and methodology

Lead strategies to position QM as the preeminent expert in quality improvement and assurance for online and digital education

Data-Driven Decision Making

Implement robust analytics to track member engagement, satisfaction, and retention metrics

Utilize data insights to continuously refine member offerings and marketing approaches

Conduct market research and analysis to identify opportunities for product and service development

Present membership trends and marketing performance to leadership and board members

Revenue Growth & Partnership Development

Drive membership growth through targeted acquisition and retention strategies

Identify and develop partnership opportunities with educational organizations, associations, and technology providers

Collaborate with the professional development team to market recognition programs and educational offerings

Team Management

Provide strategic direction and mentorship to the Director of Creative Services and Brand Experience and Director of Marketing and Engagement to meet QM strategic priorities

Foster a globally-minded team culture, across the Creative Services and Member Engagement units, that embraces diverse perspectives and approaches

Align team objectives with QM's growth priorities, setting, tracking, and reporting on annual goals and KPIs, prioritizing resources, and evaluating team performance to ensure supervised units are meeting objectives

Develop/approve and oversee management of unit operating budgets.

Represent units in strategic discussions, providing opportunity for employee contributions and engagement in organization strategy

Collaborate as a member of the Quality Matters Team

Participate in weekly staff and team meetings.

Work with staff and members in small workgroups as needed.

Work with QM staff to meet the strategic goals and objectives.

Required Qualifications

Self-starter, capable of being productive in a fast-moving virtual office environment with the following qualifications and desired skills:

Progressive leadership experience with 7+years' experience in the digital learning industry with revenue and expense responsibility for a market-facing unit

Deep understanding of the education landscape, particularly online and digital learning trends

Professional experience in strategic planning for member, product, or service growth

Track record of building collaborative relationships with internal and external partners, with significant professional connections in the digital learning industry

Master's degree in Education, Business, Marketing, Communication, or related field

Strategic management and/or marketing experience with the demonstrated ability to translate vision into actionable plans, particularly for product strategy and member engagement

Strong analytical skills with ability to define, obtain, and analyze key data to drive decisions

Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to articulate QM's value proposition to various audiences

Basic understanding of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning concepts, including how to integrate AI into the product roadmap and to leverage AI in member engagement strategies

Experience in the change agent role, successfully introducing innovative approaches

Recognition as a highly motivated professional with proven leadership skills, overseeing teams and managing direct reports, and a track record of driving results with measurable outcomes.

Preferred Qualifications

Responsibility for marketing and communications units

Experience with deploying artificial intelligence tools for member recruitment and/or engagement

Professional certifications in relevant areas (education leadership, quality management, quality assurance, marketing, brand management, instructional design, etc.)

Technology Proficiencies

Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

Video conferencing software (Zoom) and team collaboration platforms (Teams)

Google applications

Familiarity with AI or AI-integrated tools supporting data analytics, customer relationship management, content personalization technologies, and/or chatbot management

Ability to learn proprietary database systems as well as other software packages (e.g. Alfresco), as needed

Additional Information

QM operates a virtual office, and this will be a remote, home-based position. Applicants must reside permanently in one of the following states to be considered for this position: CT, FL, IL, IN, KS, KY, MD, MI, MO, NC, NH, NM, NV, OH, OR, PA, SC, TN, TX, or WA. Candidates outside of these states need not apply. You should also have access to reliable high-speed internet.

This full-time remote position is At-Will, with a salary range of $119,831 - $131,815 annually, based off of a 40-hour work week, minimum, paid in biweekly increments. This position is eligible to participate in QM's competitive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life, long-term disability, 401(k), 12 paid holidays, paid vacation and paid sick leave.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

This job operates in a telecommuting and/or home office environment. The work in this role is conducted primarily through the use of computers or computer-based and internet technology as well as other office productivity machinery such as a computer printer. As such, the job is largely sedentary and requires continual and sustained operation of a computer. The person in this position frequently communicates with peers, colleagues and staff in both synchronous and asynchronous modalities. Must be able to exchange accurate information. This role requires occasional travel to conferences and meetings.

Regardless of physical location, all QM employees are required to be available to attend the synchronous core schedule of Monday through Friday, 10:00 am to 3:00 pm, EST and participate in weekly staff meetings.
