ABOUT THIS ROLE
The Network Administrator assists in managing the company's onsite IT systems, infrastructure, and network operations. Reporting to the Director of IT, this role is responsible for maintaining network performance, ensuring system integrity and security, and supporting IT initiatives across multiple facilities. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in network and systems administration, troubleshooting, and documentation within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
DUTIES INCLUDE
Network & Systems Administration
Plan, install, configure, and maintain all network services, equipment, and devices, including switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless access points.
Install/rebuild new servers and configure hardware, services, storage, and directories in line with project and operational requirements.
Perform troubleshooting analysis of servers, workstations, and associated systems; repair and recover from hardware or software failures.
Apply OS patches, perform upgrades, and configure/upgrade administrative tools and utilities regularly.
Manage all user accounts, email systems, antivirus/anti-spam, and permissions within Active Directory and Microsoft 365 environments.
System Monitoring & Maintenance
Perform daily system monitoring to verify the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, and systems.
Review system and application logs, verify completion of scheduled tasks (e.g., data backups), and respond to alerts proactively.
Monitor system performance and implement tuning measures to improve speed, efficiency, and reliability.
Maintain data center environment and monitoring systems, ensuring optimal conditions and performance.
Data Security & Backup
Oversee software and network security including firewalls, antivirus, data protection, and endpoint controls.
Develop and manage backup and restore protocols; verify data recoverability and maintain disaster recovery procedures.
Coordinate with stakeholders during hardware/software outages and provide recovery support as necessary.
Ensure compliance with company security policies, IT controls, and industry regulations.
Infrastructure Support & Project Work
Support planning and implementation of new IT infrastructure and computing systems.
Install and configure hardware, software, peripherals, and network components across all company locations.
Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 support and troubleshoot escalated help desk tickets in coordination with the IT support team.
Assist with server clustering, virtualization (e.g., VMware or Hyper-V), and storage management.
Develop and maintain installation, configuration, and troubleshooting documentation for internal reference.
Collaboration & Documentation
Work closely with the Director of IT and other department leaders to support operational goals.
Perform regular walk-throughs with plant leadership to ensure IT systems are supporting manufacturing and logistics needs effectively.
Document all network problems, procedures, changes, and resolutions for historical reference and knowledge transfer.
Respond to requests from various departments and provide timely support and resolution of issues.
Safety & Compliance
Actively participate in Wawona Frozen Foods' Safety program to help maintain a healthy, injury-free work environment.
Comply with all GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), HAACP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point), Food Safety, Food Defense, and SQF (Safe Quality Food) policies and procedures.
Empowered to notify and act on any safety, quality, or compliance concerns within the scope of work.

REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (required).
3-5 years of proven experience as a Network Administrator or System Administrator in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
Strong knowledge of network infrastructure (LAN/WAN/VPN), server administration, Active Directory, DNS/DHCP, Group Policy, and Microsoft 365.
Experience with virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware or Hyper-V), backup solutions, and endpoint management tools.
Proficient in applying patches, monitoring systems, and performing upgrades.
Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics Business Central or similar ERP systems is a plus.
Industry certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Security+, CCNA, or MCSA preferred.
Experience working with various computer products and systems (including apple/mac).
Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
Strong documentation habits and commitment to process improvement.
Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and respond to urgent IT issues on-site.
Availability for occasional on-call, after-hours, or weekend support as required.
Demonstrated project management experience with the ability to lead cross-functional initiatives.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in reporting.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; capable of translating complex financial data into clear insights for senior leadership.
Proactive, organized, and results-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, with a track record of working effectively across departments and with executive leadership.
LOCATION
This position will work out of our Alluvial location.

The pay for this role in the state of California ranges from $90,000 - $110,000 and is based on the position responsibilities and geographic location. Actual pay within that range may be determined based on candidate experience, qualifications and/or other determining factors.
