Position Summary:

The position will provide support for flexible metal piping products (bellows, expansion joints, hoses) being sold into the Aerospace and General Industries. Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to bellows development, process engineering, tooling design, equipment troubleshooting, prototype development, working with an interdisciplinary team to develop solutions to customer demands.Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Design hydroforming tooling to meet internal and external needs

· Develop hydroforming parameters to form bellows to meet drawing specifications

· Develop a robust system to measure all pertinent features of a bellows

· Develop bellows forming prediction capability whether through analysis, experimentation or both

· Support the design and construction of new hydroforming equipment

· Oversee and manage multiple projects or initiatives

· Support New Product Introduction (NPI) efforts as part of a multidisciplinary team

· Support existing equipment and products as well as identifying improvement opportunities for the equipment and process

· Develop and maintain robust documentation for all purchased and internally developed equipment

· Review product development requirements for compatibility with processing methods to determine costs and schedules

· Evaluate product for manufacturability and provide feedback to internal and external customers

· Prioritize safety, user interfaces, and ergonomics into designs

· Writing equipment specifications, installation, work instructions, technical manuals, training, and qualification protocols as well as supporting hydroforming equipment and product validation activitiesPreferred Skills and Work Experience

· Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of relevant experience.

· Knowledgeable in industrial hydraulics systems and their control

· Experienced simulating/analyzing plastic deformation material forming processes (knowledge of DEFORM analysis software preferred)

· General knowledge of fluid system components and their use.

· Experience with sheet metal forming, tube bending, and welding of stainless steels and nickel alloys strongly preferred

· Ability to work with one’s hands on various pieces of mechanical equipment.

· Intermediate skill in GD&T.Additional Competencies

· Intermediate knowledge of statistics including the ability to perform Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and the construction of various types of linear regression models to support ANOVA.

· Experience using commercially available statistics packages (e.g. R, Minitab, JMP)

· Experience developing and analyzing results from Design of Experiments.

· Familiar with non-linear optimization techniques.

· Experience performing Measurement System Analysis

· Experience designing seals using o-rings

· Basic experience with machine instrumentation (e.g. proximity sensors, temperature sensors, position transducers, pressure transducers)

· Experience writing purchase specifications for capital expenditures

· Familiarity with performing Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA)

· Proficiency in computer applications including Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word. Advanced skills in Excel, Microsoft Project, or other relevant software a plus

· Familiarity with an ERP or MRP system such as SAP a plus.

· Excellent professional communication skills (written and verbal)

· Excellent organization skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize with minimal supervision

· Familiarity with Python programming a plus

Work Environment

· Working conditions are split between a standard office environment and production environment.

· Ability to perform job duties that require standing, kneeling, crouching, twisting upper body, lifting of objects up to 25lbs.Travel

· Travel requirements are minimal.
