Position Summary

A private investment firm is seeking an Associate to join its Portfolio & Asset Management team. The role involves supporting a Vice President on a range of responsibilities related to fund and asset performance, transaction execution, and investment analysis. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, analytical, and capable of managing complex workflows across multiple projects.

Core Responsibilities

Financial Analysis & Modeling

Build, maintain, and update financial models related to funds, property-level investments (operating and development), and portfolio companies.

Strategic Planning & Business Evaluation

Review and analyze business plans developed by management teams. Support the internal team in evaluating alternate strategies and identifying value creation opportunities.

Reporting & Portfolio Oversight

Assist in preparing internal reports and investor-facing materials on fund and portfolio company performance.

Transaction Support

Provide analytical support for acquisitions, dispositions, and other strategic transactions across the platform. Evaluate how potential investments impact portfolio company performance and fund returns.

Candidate Profile

Required Qualifications

Experience: 3+ years in real estate investing, investment banking, or a similar analytical role.

Education: Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (e.g., MBA or Master’s in Finance/Real Estate) preferred.

Required Skills

Financial Modeling: Strong Excel skills with experience modeling real estate assets and/or corporate entities.

Presentation Development: Proficiency in PowerPoint and Word to create polished, professional materials.

Analytical Thinking: Ability to dissect complex capital structures and assess investment alternatives.

Communication: Comfortable interfacing with internal stakeholders, management teams, and third-party partners.

Detail Orientation: Precision in preparing analysis and reports is essential.

Organizational Skills: Capable of juggling multiple priorities while maintaining structured documentation and outputs.
