Job Title: Finance Manager

Location: Oakland, CA (Hybrid – On-site and Off-site)

Employment Type: Full-Time (40 hours/ week)

Salary Range: $70,000 – $75,000 annually (commensurate with experience)

Position Summary

At Dream Youth Clinic we believe in youth-led, adult-guided collaboration and are

committed to "meeting youth where they are," and assisting them along their journey to

wellness by imploring principles of Positive Youth Development, belonging, and youth

agency. The Youth Health Advocate position works therapeutically with highly vulnerable

youth populations to provide individualized client navigation and is able to take initiative,

multi-task, communicate effectively, collaborate and advocate for the needs of youth

clients.

Dream Youth Clinic is seeking a detail-oriented and mission-driven Finance Manager to oversee

the organization’s financial operations. The Finance Manager will be responsible for budgeting,

financial reporting, grant compliance, and day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping, and provide

staff financial technical assistance. This role is ideal for a finance professional who thrives in a

change in youth health.This position is key to maintaining the financial health of the

organization as we grow our impact and capacity.

Duties & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Financial Management & Reporting

● Develop, monitor, and update annual organizational and program budgets

● Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for leadership and the Board

● Lead the annual audit and coordinate with external auditors

● Prepare and organize financials and submit 990 taxes in a timely manner

● Maintain accurate general ledger and chart of accounts

Accounting & Bookkeeping

● Manage accounts payable and receivable

● Process payroll in coordination with HR department

● Reconcile bank accounts and credit card statements

● Ensure timely and accurate financial data entry and documentation

Grants & Compliance

● Track restricted and unrestricted funds, ensuring grant compliance

● Prepare financial reports for funders

● Assist with budget narratives and documentation for grant proposals

Operations & Strategy

● Advise leadership on financial strategy, forecasting, and risk management

● Support fiscal sponsor coordination (if applicable)

● Recommend improvements to internal controls and financial systems

● Contribute to team-wide strategic planning with a lens on financial sustainability

Qualifications

Required

● Bachelor’s degree or masters degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or

related field

● Minimum 3 years of relevant nonprofit financial management experience

● Strong proficiency with Xero, Expensify, Bill.com, Adobe, Docusign, QuickBooks, Excel,

and Google Workspace

● Strong Knowledge of GAAP and nonprofit accounting principles

● Extremely detailed oriented and precise regarding numbers and finances

● Excellent organizational and analytical skills

● Experience with Federal, State government, foundation grants management along with

City and County Contract management

Preferred

● Experience working with youth-centered or social justice non-profit organizations

● Experience with social enterprise financial management is a plus

Physical Conditions:

● Regularly required to stand, walk, climb stairs, bend, stoop, and lift up to 15 lbs.

● Requires use of computers and office equipment.
