Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Network Equipment Maintenance Support specialist to maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot network infrastructure, with a focus on Layer 2 (L2) and Layer 3 (L3) devices. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the stability, performance, and reliability of network systems within a managed operations environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Support and maintain network infrastructure, including L2/L3 devices such as switches and routers.
Perform configuration, monitoring, and basic troubleshooting of network equipment to maintain optimal performance and uptime.
Manage core L2 functions including VLAN setup, link aggregation, and MAC address resolution.
Administer L3 operations such as IP addressing and routing protocol configuration (e.g., OSPF, BGP).
Monitor network performance metrics and proactively identify and address issues or degradations.
Execute fault management activities including detection, escalation, and resolution of equipment faults.
Maintain and update documentation for network configurations, maintenance records, and troubleshooting logs.
Ensure adherence to security policies and operational standards in all maintenance tasks.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Network Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
3+ years of experience in network support, NOC operations, or infrastructure maintenance roles.
Strong understanding of the OSI model with focus on L2 (Data Link) and L3 (Network) layers.
Hands-on experience with enterprise-grade switches, routers, and related network devices.
Familiarity with network monitoring tools and protocols (e.g., SNMP, syslog, NetFlow).
Solid troubleshooting and analytical skills with the ability to perform under pressure.
