iSeries / RPG Developer / Programmer

Perform maintenance and operations duties for IBM Power Systems

Backups, PTFs, etc

Monitor system usage and security

Manage jobs, schedules, and system messages

Manage barcode printers, Barcode scanners

Develop applications in an IBM Power Systems / IBM i environment using Genexus and CL – for terminal and barcode scanners

Modify/enhance existing applications

Debug and fix issues with existing applications

Read code (existing applications) to provide technical and administrative support to end users

Requirements

Strong knowledge of, and 3+ years of work experience with, the IBM Power / AS400 / iSeries system

System administration experience - access management, security, and barcode printers

Experience with certain third-party applications such as PowerTech Exit Point Manager, and TL Ashford is preferred. Experience with similar products will be considered

3+ years of experience programming

Experience with all phases of the software development life cycle

Experience with CL, SQL, and a procedural, compiled programming language - experience with RPG and/or Genexus is preferred.

Experience with database design and maintenance

Knowledge of general business processes is preferred

Knowledge of accounting processes (GL, AP, AR, PR) is highly desired

Strong problem-solving and analysis skills

Strong desire to learn
