POSITION SUMMARY
The Engineering Technician 3 plays a key role in supporting manufacturing efficiency and technical operations across multiple departments. Working with minimal oversight, this position focuses on refining production methods, launching new systems, and contributing to the success of engineering-driven projects. The technician applies in-depth technical expertise to troubleshoot complex issues, particularly with PLC-controlled machinery and heat-treatment equipment. In addition to hands-on problem solving, this role may guide equipment setup, assist in training production staff, and lead small-scale projects. The ideal candidate brings a solid foundation in technical processes, demonstrates sound judgment, and actively contributes to continuous improvement efforts throughout the facility.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Carry out manufacturing procedures according to documented guidelines, resolve equipment faults, and contribute to ongoing process enhancement initiatives.
Set up and operate industrial furnaces in line with detailed instructions; document operating parameters and ensure process compliance.
Diagnose furnace performance issues and complete minor maintenance or escalate as necessary.
Participate in reviewing and improving plant floor setups to maximize efficiency and safety.
Analyze interruptions in production, determine corrective strategies, and implement preventive measures to avoid recurrence.
Interpret engineering drawings and documentation—including GD&T, electrical schematics, and part specifications—to guide fabrication or troubleshooting activities.
Maintain a clean, well-organized workspace and ensure timely completion of paperwork such as job travelers, deviation reports, and inventory logs.
Operate a range of metrology and diagnostic tools such as calipers, height gauges, thread checkers, micrometers, digital multimeters, and other specialty instruments with precision.
Demonstrate strong commitment to safety procedures and regulatory compliance through accurate recordkeeping and example-setting.
Possess a thorough understanding of the complete production cycle through final packaging, and provide support across various functional areas.
Fulfill additional responsibilities as directed to meet business needs.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Candidates for the Engineering Technician 3 role should meet the following criteria:
High school diploma or equivalent is required; an associate degree or completion of relevant college coursework is preferred.
2 to 6 years of hands-on technical experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
Currently reside within a commuting distance to Vancouver, WA
Must pass a background check and drug screening.
Capable of standing or walking for up to 90% of the workday.
Must be eligible to work within ITAR-regulated environments.
Proven ability to effectively train and mentor peers.
Skilled in the use of inspection equipment and optical tools, including microscopes.
