Summary
The Engineering Technician will be a part of the Electrical Engineering team, supporting multiple departments during the develop of new designs as well as product sustainment activities. This position requires a self-motivated individual with proficient electronics, analytical, and communications skills. Expertise in electronic component soldering, circuit card rework, schematic interpretation, and general circuit troubleshooting is required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Perform circuit card inspections to identify parts and assembly errors
Build prototype circuit card assemblies (soldering, cleaning, lead prep, part staking, etc.)
Ability to work on a concurrent engineering team and interface and communicate effectively with all levels of technical team members and leadership
Assist Design Engineering (Electrical/Mechanical) with the build, rework, and test of new products at system and circuit card assembly levels
Assist multiple departments (Engineering, Reliability, Production) with the repair and troubleshooting of existing products at system and circuit card assembly levels
Keep accurate records of rework, test procedure, and test results
Manage and track Engineering lab tools, such as bus probes, programming tools, meters, etc.
Ability to read and interpret circuit card schematic diagrams.
Qualifications
Associate's degree and at least 5 years of experience related to electrical/electronic development and test; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must have demonstrated competency in soldering skills per IPC J-STD-001.
Familiarity with Microsoft Application tools: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Familiarity with PCB layout viewer, such as Altium Designer Viewer
Ability to read standard engineering drawings (schematics, parts lists, assembly, PWB, etc.)
Basic understanding of engineering principles, standards, methodologies and circuit theory
Must be a U.S. Person due to ITAR restrictions
Ability to prioritize work in a fast paced, high product mix environment
