Roles and responsibilities:
Position Overview: The Laboratory Technician III will perform routine analytical and laboratory testing to support food safety, quality assurance, and operational teams. This role involves executing in-process and final product analyses, monitoring and maintaining laboratory instrumentation, and documenting and communicating results. You will work under minimal supervision, collaborating with senior team members on complex issues, and ensuring adherence to safety and accreditation standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct routine analysis of in-process and final products, ensuring accuracy and compliance with quality standards.
Monitor, calibrate, and perform preventive maintenance on complex laboratory equipment and instrumentation.
Document test procedures and results into laboratory databases; communicate findings verbally and in writing to cross functional teams.
Use safe laboratory practices, participate in safety meetings, and verify proper functioning of workstations.
Support trials and experiments under the direction of senior technical staff.
Investigate and resolve anomalies by examining data and selecting corrective actions; escalate atypical or complex issues as needed.
Assist in the evaluation and interpretation of highly complex data sets in collaboration with senior-level personnel.
Manage laboratory supplies: inventory stock, place orders, and verify receipt to ensure uninterrupted operations.
Handle clerical, administrative, technical, and customer support tasks with minimal supervision; escalate only the most complex issues.
Perform other duties as assigned to support department goals.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education or technical certification preferred.
Minimum of four (4) years of relevant laboratory experience.
Proven proficiency with laboratory instrumentation and ISO 17025 accreditation standards.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline (Chemistry, Biology, Food Science or related field) for entry-level candidates.
One (1) or more years of experience in a laboratory or food manufacturing environment.
