Plumbing and Mechanical Estimator

Job Description

City Wide Mechanical is a mid-size mechanical contractor based in Prince Frederick, MD that specializes in Commercial Plumbing and Mechanical construction in Maryland and Virginia. We are looking for a highly skilled an experienced Plumbing and Mechanical Estimator to work within our fast-paced, multi-task environment. With the responsibility of developing bids and proposals for, Plumber and Mechanical Piping in a timely and accurate method. A candidate should possess effective written and verbal communication skills and have a strong work ethic. They should have the ability to work independently, as well as be part of a team. They must pay attention to details with the ability to recognize discrepancies. Some specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Review of plans and specification to determine the scope of work and estimate requirements.

Attend pre-bid meetings if needed.

Perform material takeoff and subcontractor requirements.

Prepare supplier and subcontractor request for proposal for their specific items.

Prepare detailed estimates.

Review final estimate packages with supervisory personnel prior to formal quotation to ensure accuracy and completeness.

Participate in bid strategy and presentation meetings as requested.

Follow awarded contracts and facilitate contract handoff to project management, prepare list of submittals and materials to be used on job.

Some travel as required for bid meetings and site visits.

Must have the ability to prepare proposals with minimal supervision.

Skills & qualifications

Microsoft office

Estimating software knowledge

Knowledge of plumbing, piping & mechanical trades.

At least 5 years of experience in management or estimating in commercial or industrial sector in the plumbing & mechanical trades.

Detail oriented.

Leadership ability & skills.

Self-starter & motivated.

Decision maker.

Team player.

Communication skills.
