The Test Engineer will be responsible for risk assessment, and test planning and execution in support of launching new innovative products to the market. This position will ensure quality of product design and work in coordination with the Project Engineer to meet goals of function, quality and speed to market.

TEST ENGINEER RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinates with Project Engineers as new projects are initiated to evaluate lab approval test requirements as well as develop additional tests needed to validate the design function for sustained production and end customer satisfaction.
Leads DFMEA activity with Project Engineer to identify potential failure modes and mitigation actions.
Designs test fixtures/equipment and project manages the build and validation.
Manages sample inspection coordination and build activity.
Ensure test equipment, gages, and test set-up are prepared and calibrated in support of product design validation timelines.
Ensure test equipment and process correlation to approval agency tests. Works with approval agencies if required to complete correlation studies.
Coordinates with R&D lab personnel to conduct testing to procedural and timeline requirements.
Conducts post-test analysis and verifies/documents all test reports. Escalate results to necessary stakeholders.
Develops in-depth knowledge of approval standards, company manuals, and other test literature. Evaluates the impact of standard revisions to current processes.
Correspond with approval agency personnel, and vendors as required.
Prepares lab work orders, material requisitions, purchase order requisitions, and other workflow as required to maintain progress of projects.
Operates machines and uses instruments to perform tests and measure parts.
Performs other duties as assigned.
TEST ENGINEER REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering related area; or equivalent product development and testing experience.
Proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
Proven ability to assess risk and develop actions required to validate.
Demonstrated ability to use basic measurement and test equipment, including calipers, micrometers, etc.
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a product development, manufacturing, and/or test lab environment.
