Job Title: Construction Estimator

Location: Bridgeport, TX

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Pay: $20/hour and up, depending on experience

Job Overview:

We are currently seeking a skilled Construction Estimator to join our team in Bridgeport. This role involves preparing detailed and accurate cost estimates for construction projects, including boat docks, dirt work, and related scopes. The Estimator will collaborate closely with the owner and procurement team to evaluate materials, labor, and timelines to support competitive and profitable bids.

Key Responsibilities:

Cost Estimation:

Analyze project documents and specifications to prepare precise cost estimates

Evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes for accuracy and value

Partner with project managers to assess cost-effective solutions and ensure client needs are met

Bid Preparation & Proposal Support:

Develop detailed estimates and support bid submissions with all required documentation

Recommend value engineering alternatives to enhance cost-efficiency

Coordinate with the bid team to meet deadlines and ensure proposal completeness

Cost Control & Budgeting:

Monitor and align project budgets with actual costs throughout the project lifecycle

Process and adjust for change orders accurately

Flag and address cost overruns with proactive solutions

Collaboration & Communication:

Work closely with vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams to gather accurate project data

Clarify specifications and project needs with clients, engineers, and architects

Attend meetings and present estimates as needed

Reporting & Documentation:

Maintain organized records of all bids, estimates, and supporting documents

Provide regular updates to management regarding bid status and ongoing project performance

Skills & Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or 3+ years of relevant estimating experience

Strong background in construction estimating, ideally within commercial or residential sectors

Technical Skills:

Proficient with estimating tools/software (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend, Bluebeam)

Solid understanding of construction materials, methods, and industry practices

Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel

Competencies:

Effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills

Analytical and solution-oriented thinker

Self-motivated with the ability to manage time and meet deadlines

Working Conditions:

Primarily office-based role in Bridgeport, with occasional site visits

Standard weekday schedule with flexibility during peak bid times
