Structural Engineer

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and review structural calculations and drawings in compliance with Commercial Nuclear QA standards.

Design and qualify structural components such as baseplates, expansion anchors, and pipe support elements.

Apply AISC steel allowable stress design principles and ACI code requirements to structural design projects.

Support plant modifications using the Standard Design Process, ensuring seamless integration of new and existing structures.

Conduct plant walkdowns and field inspections, documenting measurements to inform design modifications.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project goals, quality standards, and timelines are met.

Provide technical expertise for equipment mounting and structural component qualifications.

Occasionally travel to project sites to support fieldwork and inspections as needed.

Qualifications:

3+ years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree (BSCE) or Master’s degree (MSCE) in Civil or Structural Engineering.

Must be authorized to work in the United States without VISA sponsorship.

Proven experience with Commercial Nuclear QA, including qualification as a preparer and reviewer for calculations and drawings.

Proficiency in AISC steel allowable stress design and ACI code standards.

Experience with baseplate and expansion anchor design and qualification.

Familiarity with pipe support component design and equipment mounting requirements.

Prior experience in plant modifications using the Standard Design Process is a plus.

Ability to perform site walkdowns and inspections, with strong attention to detail in documenting existing conditions for integration into new designs.

Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams.
