Job Description

A leading manufacturing company is seeking a Controller to oversee financial operations and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data. As a key member of the plant’s management team, this role is responsible for driving financial performance, strengthening internal controls, and ensuring sound financial decision-making. Additionally, the Controller will manage accounting processes for government contracts, including POC (Percentage of completion method) accounting and financial forecasting.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead, mentor, and manage the finance team in general accounting, job cost accounting, and inventory validation.

Oversee POC accounting functions, including journal entries and account reconciliations.

Develop and manage annual operating and capital budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.

Ensure strong internal control processes for financial transactions, including P&L, balance sheet, working capital, and cash flow management.

Conduct financial analysis to support business objectives and implement corrective actions when needed.

Coordinate audit, internal control, and SOX compliance initiatives.

Ensure compliance with US GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley regulations.

Cultivate a results-driven culture within the finance and accounting departments.

Manage month-end close processes and review account reconciliations.

Prepare reports and presentations for business performance meetings.

Establish annual burden rates and oversee physical inventory counts.

Assist in major customer and vendor contract negotiations.

Develop and justify capital expenditure proposals.

Required Skills and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.

At least 8 years of relevant experience.

CPA or CPM certification preferred.

Experience in the manufacturing industry is required.

Strong understanding of POC accounting is preferred.

Proficiency in financial reporting, internal controls, and budgeting.

Familiarity with large ERP and forecasting systems

Strong ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities effectively.Company Description
