Job Description
We are seeking an Internal Audit Supervisor to lead a team of professional auditors in conducting financial, compliance, and operational audits. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the organization and its subrecipients maintain compliance with federal, state, and internal regulations and standards. The Internal Audit Supervisor will oversee audit activities, manage team performance, and contribute to special projects and investigations involving complex or sensitive issues.
What You Will Be Doing
Ensuring assigned staff comply with professional auditing standards and internal audit methodologies.
Supervising and mentoring a team of 2–3 auditors, ensuring adherence to departmental policies and procedures.
Monitoring audit project progress, conducting preliminary reviews of audit workpapers, and providing feedback.
Scheduling and occasionally attending site visits to subrecipients and contractors.
Conducting and supervising subrecipient monitoring, including desk reviews and field audits.
Leading or supporting special projects and sensitive investigations involving financial, operational, or compliance matters.
Collaborating with the Director of Internal Audit to optimize departmental operations and contribute to strategic initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a closely related field.
At least 7 years of experience in internal auditing or public accounting.
At least 5 years of experience in governmental accounting or auditing.
At least 3 years of supervisory experience, including performance management and mentoring.
Professional certification as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and/or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA).
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree or additional certifications (e.g., CISA, CGAP, CRMA).
Experience working with local government agencies, nonprofit programs, or school districts.
Strong knowledge of Office 365 tools (Teams, Excel, Word) and experience conducting data analysis and statistical sampling.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex assignments, prioritize effectively, and communicate audit results to stakeholders.Company Description
