Job Description
A licensed residential plumber is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems in homes, ensuring compliance with local plumbing codes and safety regulations. This role involves working to provide high-quality maintenance, explaining repair options to tenants, organizing and deliberating responsibilities with coworkers, and ensuring long-term plumbing solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Install, repair, and maintain residential plumbing systems, including pipes, fixtures, water heaters, and drainage systems.
Diagnose plumbing issues and determine appropriate repair or replacement solutions.
Respond to service and repair calls, handling complex plumbing jobs as needed.
Perform inspections and preventative maintenance to identify potential plumbing failures before they occur.
Ensure all work complies with state and local building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.
Maintain accurate records of services performed and materials used.
Use advanced plumbing tools and technology to increase efficiency and service quality.
Drive a company-provided service truck and maintain a safe driving record.
Train and mentor junior plumbers or apprentices when applicable.
Qualifications & Skills
Valid New Jersey Master plumbing license in accordance with state requirements.
In-depth knowledge of residential plumbing systems and repair techniques.
Familiarity with safety protocols, plumbing codes, and regulations.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Proficiency in using plumbing tools, diagnostic equipment, and modern service software.
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
