Introduction

Visium Resources has been asked to identify qualified candidates for this Help Desk Analyst I position. This position is a contract opportunity which is expected to be on-site for 6+ months. Customer is located in Montpelier VT.

Summary

Client is seeking a skilled and customer-focused Helpdesk Analyst I to join their IT support team in Montpelier. This on-site position serves as a first point of contact for technical assistance, providing critical support for hardware, software, and network-related issues. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong troubleshooting capabilities, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to work independently within a structured policy environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 support for end users via phone, email, and ticketing systems.

Troubleshoot and resolve advanced PC, software, and network issues.

Utilize help desk software to log, track, and manage technical support tickets.

Identify trends in issues and recommend long-term solutions.

Maintain and support system interfaces as required.

Train and guide users in the use of IT systems and applications.

Apply training principles and practices in support sessions and documentation.

Courteous and professional demeanor in all communications.

Interpret and apply departmental IT policies and procedures with sound judgment.

Collaborate with other IT staff and departments to escalate and resolve complex issues.

Document processes and contribute to internal knowledge base development.

Qualified candidates would have the following:

Experience working in a Help Desk or Call Center environment.

Advanced troubleshooting skills for PCs, software, and network-related issues.

Working knowledge of help desk tools, interfaces, and ticketing systems.

Familiarity with training delivery and user support best practices.

Ability to analyze technical problems and recommend effective, self-directed solutions.

Strong understanding of public sector operations and regulatory frameworks is a plus.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Company Description
