Minimum 1+ years intrepreter experience required.

A certified specialist is sought to provide essential munication support for a student during the extended school year (ESY) at a high school in Whittier, CA. This role focuses on facilitating access to the curriculum and ensuring that the student can fully engage in their educational activities.

Qualifications:

Certification as a Sign Language Interpreter (e.g., NIC, RID).

Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL) with a deep understanding of various deaf culture nuances.

Previous experience interpreting in educational settings, particularly with high school students.

Strong interpersonal and munication skills to collaborate effectively with students, staff, and families.

Ability to adapt interpretation styles to meet the individual needs of the student.

Location: Whittier, CA

Responsibilities:

Provide sign language interpretation for the student in all classroom settings during the ESY.

Collaborate with teachers and staff to facilitate effective munication and support academic goals.

Attend school meetings and participate in professional development as required.
