Position Details:

Job Title: Sign Language Interpreter 1:1 Support

Location: Chicago, IL

Schedule: Full-time MondayFriday Full School Year

Start/End Dates: August 2025 May 2026

Grade Level: 7th Grade

Work Setting: 100% Onsite 1:1 with a middle school student

Key Responsibilities:

Provide real-time American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation for a 7th grade student in all academic and school-related settings

Collaborate with educators, service providers, and families to ensure full munication access

Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in the classroom

Support the students language development and access to curriculum

Qualifications:

Must hold (or be eligible for) Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) approval as an Educational Interpreter

A score of 3.0 or higher on the EIPA (Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment) qualifies candidates for temporary approval

Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)

Prior experience in a school setting preferred

Strong munication and organizational skills
