Job Title: Skilled CNC Machinist

Job Description

We are seeking a Skilled CNC Machinist responsible for operating and setting up a variety of machines on fairly complicated work to close tolerances. This position involves calling up programs, performing manual data input, and making minor modifications to programs with approval and direction from engineering and management. Located in Lake Zurich, IL, this role is fully on-site.

Responsibilities

Perform advanced setup operations (aerospace, new product, etc.) and adjust and check out programming.

Operate numerically controlled machine tools to perform complex machining operations on a diversified line of work to close and exacting tolerances.

Troubleshoot issues prior to involving the engineering department.

Set up and run all machines on the production floor.

Train others on setup and running of CNC machines.

Measure close tolerances and train others on proper measuring techniques as a Certified First Piece Inspector.

Perform all functions of CNC Operator & Advanced CNC Operator.

Stack/unload product per instructions and handle other material as stated.

Effectively communicate with co-workers and management.

Accurately enter production quantity in the ERP system.

Input job data accurately per MBP MMS requirements.

Measure parts per inspection requirements using various gaging and metrology equipment.

Participate in any team activity as needed.

Be seen as a “go-to” person to get work accomplished.Essential Skills

Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Basic computer skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Knowledge of basic mathematics.

Advanced blueprint reading.

Advanced understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).

Proper measuring techniques with a variety of gauges.

Knowledge of ferrous and/or non-ferrous materials.

Strong mechanical aptitude.Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience with CNC setup and operation.

Work Environment

This position is fully on-site in Lake Zurich, IL, within a temperature-controlled environment.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lake Zurich, Illinois.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $40.00/hr.
