Forklift Operator / Material Handler / Crane Operator - Weekly Pay

Job Description

Employee operates forklift machine per standard operating procedure guidelines to transport raw steel materials to supply various manufacturing processes to make specified finished steel strata control products for the mining and tunneling industries meeting AST F-432-95 Standards and to transport finished steel products to be banded/wrapped for shipment per Jennmar and/or customer specifications. Employee performs daily safety checklist inspection of machine and performs light maintenance of machine/equipment prior to operation as required. Employee performs cleanup or housekeeping tasks as required.

Forklift Operator Tasks & Duties (What you'll do)

Crane Experience preferred

Operate forklift or other hand truck

Possess dependability to be consistent at work and on time with ability to work 40+ flexible schedule as required

Cognitive Competencies: basic reading and math skills including knowledge of fractions and decimals, basic verbal/written comprehension; basic measuring skills using tape measure and/or micrometers; ability to follow safety procedures and guidelines throughout production processes; team mentality

Motor Skills/Physical Abilities: repetitive sitting capability during normal phase duties; near/far vision; total visual field; multiple limb coordination; light/moderate (up to 50 lbs.) lifting capability

Perform a safety evaluation of assigned workstation and surrounding areas

Perform daily safety checklist inspection of machine prior to operation.

Operate forklift per standard operating guidelines and ISO regulations to transport raw steel materials to supply various manufacturing process stations to make specified finished steel products meeting AST F-432-95 Standards.

Operate forklift per standard operating guidelines and ISO regulations to transport finished steel products from various manufacturing process stations and perform banding/wrapping actions to prepare finished steel products for shipment meeting AST F-432-95 Standards and customer specifications.

Perform machine, workstation, and surrounding area cleanup/housekeeping tasks as required

Check and maintain all fluid levels to ensure maximum performance of forklift

Perform any other general labor duties as directed by supervisory personnel to ensure efficient operation of facility.

OSHA Required In-House Power Industrial Trucks Certificate Required

Forklift Operator Qualifications (Requirements/Skills)

experience preferred

GED / High School Diploma

Able to pass a pre-employment drug screen

Able to pass a background check

Able to work in the US

nowledge of various material-handling equipment an asset

Proficient in mathematics

Strong understanding of OSHA regulations

Possess a high regard for safety in the workplace

Current forklift license and certification

Able to lift 50 pounds unassisted

Able to work night, weekends, and holidays

Able to work in a fast-paced environment

Able to work independently

Able to pass a background check

Able to work in the US
