Assistant Controller – Construction/Manufacturing

Anna Parson at Robert Half is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Assistant Controller for our client in the construction or manufacturing industry. As the Assistant Controller, you will:
Collaborate with the Controller to manage and oversee the day-to-day accounting operations, month-end closings, including reconciliations and financial reporting.
Assist in the preparation of financial statements, project accounting, WIP reporting budgets, and forecasts.
Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards and regulations.
Lead and mentor a team, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.
Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency.
Provide insightful financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
Manage all aspects of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and billing processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness.

What We’re Looking For
Background in Construction and/or Manufacturing Industries: Familiarity with the unique challenges of these sectors is highly preferred.
Experience with construction or project accounting, including WIP and AIA billing.
Strong Leadership Skills: Proven ability to guide teams, develop skills, and drive results.
Solid understanding of intercompany accounting, sales tax, and cash flow management.
Advanced Communication Abilities: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills to effectively collaborate across all company levels.
Experience with Accounting Systems: Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems preferred (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or QuickBooks).

Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA or CMA designation considered a plus.
5+ years of experience in accounting roles, including supervisory responsibilities.
Track record of successfully improving processes and driving efficiencies.
