Authoring/developing design change packages in accordance with IP-ENG-001 industry design process
Provide design engineering support for nuclear power plant refueling outages
Obtain and retain unescorted nuclear power plant access
Obtain and retain radiological worker qualifications
Adhere to Fitness for Duty Program to maintain unescorted nuclear power plant access
Designing major industrial component upgrades within industrial plants
Obtain design qualifications to be completed
Training provided for nuclear design process and procedures
Provide technical expertise to develop, manage and implement engineering analysis, activities and programs.
Provide technical expertise and consultation through direct involvement and as a subject matter expert when consulted to identify and resolve equipment and system design issues.
Perform engineering tasks as assigned by supervision applying technical engineering principles.
Accountable for the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of work ensuring proper configuration management and assuring design criteria, practices, procedures and codes are used in preparation of plans, packages, and specifications.
Perform independent research, reviews, studies, and analyses in support of technical projects.
Recommend equipment, new concepts, and techniques to improve performance, simplify construction, reduce costs, correct design or material flaws, or comply with changes in codes or regulations.
Qualifications:
B.S. in Electrical Engineering required
Prefer 4 years of experience or more (negotiable)
Experience in Design Engineering required
Experience in Electrical engineering for industrial plant systems design, power plant engineering analysis, ETAP or EMTP power systems modeling
Provided designs for Nuclear Reactor Neutron Monitoring Equipment (PRNMs), or Implementation of Measurement Uncertainty Recapture Projects (MUR), or Implementation of Extended or Stretch Type Power Uprates (EPU or SPU), or Implementation of Turbine Replacement Projects (Turbine Retrofits), or Implementation of Nuclear Main Generator Rewind or Replacement Projects

Technical Certification Bonus: Synectics is pleased to award its employees a bonus of up to $500 for an approved professional certification. In determining the bonus amount, Synectics will consider the cost of the test(s) for any certification relating to your current position, achieved during your employment with us. Only one Certification Bonus per calendar year may be awarded per employee. Only current, active employees will be eligible to receive this bonus. It will be awarded 90 days after the Synectics office has received documentation confirming the successful completion of the certification.
