Controller

Express Employment Professionals Specialized Recruiting Group is hiring for a full time Controller. This is a direct hire position with a health, human services, community and economic development non-profit organization. Our client offers a competitive package including an annual salary of $115,000. This position is in office. It is NOT remote.

Our client provides a range of bilingual and culturally sensitive services throughout North Philadelphia and Montgomery County. Programs include affordable housing, food security, employment assistance, early child education and daycare, foster care and adoption, substance abuse treatment and behavioral health for adults. This role reports to Chief Financial Officer and responsible for coordinating all fiscal activities to ensure projects are completed timely and accurately, ensure accuracy of fiscal reports, supervises the fiscal department personnel, prepares agency financial reports and budgets. The position is open because the incumbent is relocating.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Prepare, evaluate and update financial accounting policies and procedures manual, including payroll, cash disbursement and receipts, among others. Overseeing and periodic review of internal controls and company policy to ensure compliance with Federal, State and City regulations.

Review chart of accounts; set up new accounts and maintains general ledger; prepare journal entries as needed and ensure all accounts are reconciled on a timely basis; review and approve monthly bank reconciliation statements for all bank accounts.

Works with the Director of Budget and Audit in preparing program and organization budgets for all cost centers, forecasts and prepares budget revisions as required; monitor budget versus actual expenditures.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting and four years of accounting experience with management level experience in finance department during the term of employment.

Strong work ethic, attention to detail and integrity and pride in work product.
