**Job Description**

The Sheet Metal Mechanic will be responsible for performing sheet metal fabrication, riveting, and assembling and disassembling of aircraft structures, primarily focusing on Bombardier corporate aircraft. The ideal candidate will possess experience in handling repairs from inspection and evaluation to executing maintenance and repair requirements for airframe components and assemblies using technical manuals and service bulletins.

**Responsibilities**

+ Perform sheet metal fabrication, riveting, assembling, and disassembling of aircraft structures.

+ Handle repairs from start to finish, including inspection, evaluation, and liaison work.

+ Execute maintenance and repair requirements using technical manuals and approved data.

+ Provide technical information to engineers for repairs outside of approved data scope.

+ Perform approved repair operations on structures including sheet metal.

+ Overhaul mechanical assemblies, including repairs and part replacements.

+ Document maintenance and repair actions in accordance with company and FAA requirements.

+ Maintain a safe and clean working environment.

**Essential Skills**

+ 2+ years of experience in sheet metal fabrication and riveting.

+ 2+ years of experience working on aircraft structures, including sheet metal and composites.

+ Proficiency in using structures and hand tools related to aircraft maintenance.

+ Ability to read precision measuring tools and instruments.

+ Working knowledge of FAA regulations and their application.

+ Intermediate computer skills, including basic use of MS Outlook, Word, and Excel.

+ Effective communication skills for technical subject matter.

**Additional Skills & Qualifications**

+ Experience in mentoring or a prior lead role is a plus.

+ Familiarity with production and repair-related prints and drawings.

+ Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team.

+ FAA Airframe certification is a plus.

**Work Environment**

The work environment is within a family-owned shop with around 35 employees, with the owner actively involved in day-to-day operations. The position operates on a second shift with four ten-hour workdays from Monday through Thursday.

**Job Type & Location**

This is a Permanent position based out of Bloomfield, Connecticut.

**Pay and Benefits**

The pay range for this position is $65000.00 - $91520.00/yr.
