**Job Title: Aircraft Structure Mechanic**
**Job Description**
We are currently seeking experienced Aircraft Structure Mechanics to join our team in Jacksonville, FL (Cecil Field). In this role, you will perform maintenance operations on F-18 aircraft, equipment, and components in accordance with DOD, manufacturer, company, supplier, and other directives in support of aircraft modification. You will be responsible for assembling and making major assembly structures, such as fuselage panels and bulkheads, and structural subassemblies like rudders, flaps, and stabilizers.
**Responsibilities**
+ Perform maintenance operations on F-18 aircraft, equipment, and components.
+ Assemble and make major assembly structures such as fuselage panels and bulkheads.
+ Construct structural subassemblies like rudders, flaps, and stabilizers.
+ Align parts on jigs using templates and fixtures.
+ Perform minor part-fitting operations such as filing, sawing, burring, crimping, trimming, framing, riveting, drilling, and reaming.
+ Measure parts with micrometers and calipers to verify dimensions.
+ Modify incomplete and complete assemblies to incorporate changes to structure.
+ Monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.
+ Work on fracture critical (safety of flight) components.
**Essential Skills**
+ Experience with sheet metal, riveting, and close tolerance drilling.
+ Ability to read and interpret schematics, assembly drawings, process specifications, technical manuals, and written instructions.
+ Experience with close tolerance assembly operations such as shimming, fitting, trimming, and aligning.
+ Ability to replace ribs, stiffeners, and stringers in skinned assemblies based on blueprints.
+ Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments such as dial indicators, micrometers, gauges, protractors, and calipers.
+ Experience with common hand tools such as drills, reamers, deburrers, files, rivet guns, and bucking bars.
+ Ability to perform tasks such as drilling, filing, filling, honing, reaming, counter-sinking, dimpling, burring, and fastening.
+ Capability to correct cans, buckles, and wrinkles in outer skins.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
+ At least 4 years of MRO aircraft depot level maintenance experience.
+ Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret level security clearance.

**Work Environment**
Work Monday to Friday from 6am-2:30pm with some weekend and overtime work as needed. The position is based in a fast-paced, production-driven hangar environment.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of JACKSONVILLE, Florida.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $38.00/hr.
