**Job Title: Machinist**

**Job Description**

The Machinist is responsible for the set-up, layout, and operation of turning mills, specifically focusing on prototype work and small run production for the Aerospace and Medical industries. The role involves working with a variety of materials, from plastics to metals, using advanced programming for precision machining.

**Responsibilities**

+ Set-up & Layout: Fit all parts, tools, and machines to support the machining process. Layout work from blueprints, sketches, and written instructions. Load correct programs to the machine using G&M codes. Adjust controls for cutting speeds, depths, feed rates, and tool positioning based on work sketches. Set geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) and apply proper holding pressure on vises and collets.

+ Machine Operation: Operate mill turning machine and perform tool changes during the work process. Select and load the correct fixtures for the job. Monitor speeds and feeds for the machine. Modify and move machine tools according to toolpath instructions. Cut away excess material to leave the finished product.

+ Quality Check: Inspect parts using instruments such as gauges, micrometers, and dial indicators. Verify documentation.

**Essential Skills**

+ Experience with CNC programming, including SURFCAM, EDGECAM, Mastercam.

+ Proficiency in machining diverse materials for Aerospace, Nuclear, and Medical industries.

+ Experience with Haas Machines.

+ Ability to independently program and troubleshoot mechanical systems.

+ Comfortable with changeover and machine operation.

**Additional Skills & Qualifications**

+ Associates or Technical program degree.

+ Lathe experience is a plus.

The CNC machining shop specializes in prototype and production components for medical and aerospace industries, offering a clean and temperature-controlled environment. The facility spans 30,500 sq. ft. with dust-controlled manufacturing practices, monitored gauges calibrated to NIST and ISO standards. Enjoy ample space to maneuver between 8 different mills, surrounded by office space and a breakroom.

**Pay and Benefits**

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
