**Job Title: 5 Axis CNC Machinist/Operator**
**Job Description**
We are seeking skilled 5 Axis CNC Machinist/Operators to join our team on the 2nd or 3rd shifts. This role involves setting up and operating a variety of 5 & 3 axis machines, cutters, and work holding tools to produce precision parts, along with reading and understanding the function of precision instruments to verify product conformance.
**Responsibilities**
+ Calculate dimensions or tolerances using instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and portable CMM or FARO.
+ Machine parts to specifications using 5 & 3 axis machines.
+ Set up, adjust, or operate basic or specialized machine tools to perform precision machining operations.
+ Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, or materials onto machines as per setup documentation.
+ Measure, examine, or test completed parts to check for defects and ensure conformance using precision instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and FARO arms.
+ Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process.
+ Maintain machine tools in proper operational condition.
+ Study sample parts, blueprints, drawings, or engineering information to determine product conformance.
+ Operate equipment to verify operational efficiency.
+ Diagnose machine tool malfunctions to determine need for adjustments or repairs.
+ Confirm technical information with engineering, supervisory, or inspection personnel.
+ Fit and assemble fixtures and cutters to make or repair customer products.
+ Dispose of scrap or waste material in accordance with company policies and environmental regulations.
+ Separate scrap waste and related materials for reuse, recycling, or disposal.
+ Evaluate machining procedures and recommend changes for improved efficiency or adaptability as per Kaizen process.
**Essential Skills**
+ Minimum of 2 years of setup and operating experience on 5 axis machines (Haas, DMG, Makino, or Mazak).
+ Proficiency in setting up machines and inspecting and deburring parts off the machine.
+ Experience with calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and FARO arms.
+ Knowledge of Fanuc, Haas, and Siemens controls.
+ Ability to work on off shifts (2nd or 3rd).
+ High school diploma or equivalent.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Experience with Mazak machines, Haas Mill Machine, and Vortex i-630V.
+ Skill in handling and moving objects with equipment like pallet jacks or forklifts.
+ Ability to assemble electromechanical or hydraulic systems and machine tools, parts, or fixtures.
+ Inspect equipment for safety hazards and verify calibration and offset alignment.
+ Maintain production or processing equipment and replace worn components.

**Work Environment**
This position is based in a machine shop that supports aerospace, SpaceX, military projects, and more. You will work on 2nd shift (Monday-Thursday, 4:15pm-2:45am) or 3rd shift (Friday-Sunday, 4am-4:30pm) with the opportunity to earn extra comp time for full weekend shifts. New employees undergo 6-8 weeks of training before transitioning to their designated shift. The shop is equipped with advanced technologies including Verisurf Inspection Software, HAAS Controls, Fanuc Based Controls, and Siemens Based Controls.

**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $58240.00/yr.
