Shift

Backend Days (Wednesday 1:00pm-7:30pm, Thursday-Saturday 7:00am-7:30pm) – since this is a different type of shift the hybrid model would be 2 days in the office vs. 3 days.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

Must Have

High school diploma or equivalent, minimum 2 year Microsoft Office product experience, strong verbal, written, organizational, and interpersonal skills, Direct customer contact problem solving skills

Nice To Have

Mainframe Computer Operator experience (IBM preferred), Banking knowledge, Ticketing system knowledge, SharePoint knowledge, mainframe OS software knowledge (JES2, TSO, SAR, AA, JCL), mainframe and distributed scheduler/restart experience (Zeke and Zena preferred)

Job Description Summary

The Computer Operator Senior provides first level support to the mainframe environment. The Operator is responsible for monitoring, coordinating, and restarting production batch using mainframe and distributed schedulers. The Operator utilizes confidence, interpersonal skills, and knowledge to efficiently resolve alerts.

Work schedule: Wednesday 1:00pm-7:30pm, Thursday-Saturday 7:00am-7:30pm (back end days)

Job roles

• Operates within IBM z/OS mainframe and distributed scheduling environments

• Ensures all daily scheduled production work is completed accurately

• Monitors system applications and tools to confirm they are properly functioning

• Analyzes potential issues and troubleshoots operational issues as 1st level support

• Performs restarts and scheduling modifications utilizing job documents and other relative system documents

• Notifies and escalates to the appropriate support for incident resolution

• Ensures all issues reported to computer operations are recorded in the incident reporting log for review or action by Operations or IT management

• 1st level support for applications ensuring 24x7 availability

• Engage to Computer Operations leadership for 2nd level support

Job responsibilities

• Monitors IBM z/OS environment and Enterprise Schedulers

• Documents and communicates issues that occur during their shift

• Performs requested production modifications to the schedules

• Utilizes processes and procedures documented in SharePoint, ServiceNow, and job documents

• Provides first line support for mainframe and off host systems which include troubleshooting, monitoring, and reporting issues

• Restarts jobs as directed

• Contributes suggestions for continuous improvement

• Assists in maintaining current processes and procedures

• Escalates incidents involving performance of operating environment

• Supports additional customer systems and environments as required

• Mentors new hire colleagues on shift specific processes and procedure

Job Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent

• Minimum 2-year Microsoft Office product experience

• Strong verbal, written, organizational, and interpersonal skills

• Direct customer contact problem solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Associates or bachelor’s degree desired

• SharePoint experience

• Ticketing system experience – ServiceNow preferred

• Mainframe Computer Operator experience

• IBM z/OS, JES2, TSO, SAR, Auto Operator, JCL and mainframe operating system software

• Mainframe or distributed production scheduling/restart package experience - ZEKE/ZEBB/Zena preferred

• Banking knowledge

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.
