S5 Analytics is seeking a highly skilled Database Engineer to contribute to the modernization and enhancement of a large-scale Imagery Archive and Geospatial Intelligence platform. This role is integral to a cross-functional engineering team focused on designing, implementing, testing, and deploying advanced database solutions within a fast-paced development cycle. The system handles significant data volumes and supports mission-critical operations. Occasional travel may be required to support customer engagements and on-site system deployments.
What You'll Bring:
Active TS/SCI security clearance
A Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience
Experience in all stages of the development process
Advanced Oracle Expertise: Strong experience with Oracle RDBMS (12c/19c), including pluggable databases, server administration, and PL/SQL development (procedures, functions, packages, and user-defined types).
Database Design & Optimization: Proven ability to design scalable systems, construct and optimize SQL queries, and apply Oracle STIG compliance and security hardening.
Linux & Cloud Environments: Skilled in RHEL 7/8 with bash and csh scripting; knowledgeable in AWS RDS and Oracle Instant Client setup.
Development Tools & Collaboration: Proficient with Jira and Git in agile workflows; effective communicator who thrives in secure, team-based environments.
Preferred Qualifications:
Background in DAO (Data Access Object) development using C++ or Java
Familiarity with Oracle Spatial features for geospatial data processing
Basic understanding of Oracle RAC (Real Application Clusters)
Experience with Oracle Label Security (OLS)
Exposure to Oracle Identity Management (OIM) and Enterprise User Security (EUS)
Knowledge of Oracle Data Guard for disaster recovery and high availability
