Description:

Location: New York City or Los Angeles (In-person, with some travel required)

About the Role

Ship Essential is looking for a technically fluent, operationally minded Technical Integration Manager to lead the development, execution, and maintenance of all integration efforts across our fulfillment business. From ERPs and proprietary order management systems to WMS and EDI platforms, you’ll be the point person for designing and delivering seamless, scalable connectivity, both internally and for our growing portfolio of brands.

You’ll collaborate cross-functionally with brand partners, Warehouse Account Managers, General Managers, and our leadership team to scope integration requirements, work directly with external software platforms, and manage the full lifecycle of technical onboarding. Whether executing API integrations, scoping new software solutions, or ensuring that our WMS is configured and utilized to its full potential, you’ll sit at the center of our technical operations.

This is a high-impact, in-person role that can be based in either New York City or Los Angeles. Occasional travel between the two cities may be required.

Key Responsibilities

Integration & Systems Ownership

Serve as Ship Essential’s subject matter expert on all integrations: ERP, OMS, WMS (ShipHero), Shopify, EDI, and other third-party platforms.

Lead design, testing, and execution of API and EDI integrations — both pre-wired and custom — across a variety of client tech stacks.

Manage technical aspects of brand partner onboarding and ensure accurate and compliant data exchange across platforms.

Collaborate with brands to understand their systems, recommend integration solutions, and own technical implementation.

Maintain relationships with platform vendors (e.g., ShipHero, SPS Commerce) and act as the main point of contact for escalations, bugs, or usage questions.

Internal Systems Development

Drive internal technology upgrade projects to improve warehouse operations, visibility, and scalability.

Evaluate and recommend new SaaS platforms when operational gaps are identified.

Lead onboarding and rollout of new platforms, including vendor coordination, integration, documentation, and team training.

Ensure warehouse teams are fully utilizing software tools and following standardized procedures.

Cross-Team Collaboration

Partner closely with Warehouse Account Managers, GMs, the Senior Account Manager, Head of Growth, and Head of Operations to support operational excellence and client delivery.

Support the sales and onboarding process by scoping technical feasibility for prospective clients and identifying key integration requirements.

Train and upskill internal teams on relevant integration processes, systems, and tools.

What Success Looks Like

Fast, clean integration rollouts with minimal disruption.

Strong, well-managed relationships with tech vendors and platforms.

Warehouse and account teams fully confident in using our technical systems.

Clear documentation and internal SOPs for all key integrations and platforms.

Measurable improvements in operational efficiency, automation, and system reliability.

Qualifications

3+ years experience in integration or systems-focused roles at a 3PL, logistics provider, or e-commerce brand.

Strong hands-on experience with API integration, EDI platforms (especially SPS Commerce), and WMS platforms (ideally ShipHero).

Familiarity with Shopify, ERP systems (e.g., Netsuite, Brightpearl), and modern SaaS ecosystems.

Proven ability to scope, design, and deliver technical solutions with minimal oversight.

Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills — you should be as comfortable talking to engineers as you are to warehouse managers.

Strong project management and documentation skills.

Comfortable working in a fast-paced, operational environment.

Why Join Us

At Ship Essential, you’ll have the opportunity to create scalable infrastructure that powers some of today’s most exciting DTC brands. You’ll shape how technical integrations are built and maintained as we grow, and play a vital role in the future of our operations. You’ll have autonomy, ownership, and the support of a collaborative, driven team.
