We are an international manufacturing company, located in Ossining, New York; and have an exciting and rewarding opportunity for a Quality Assurance/Control Supervisor that can effectively manage and coordinate, under the direction of the Q.A. Manager, the organization’s day to day quality program.
SUMMARY
The QA/Control Supervisor oversees inspection activities to ensure products meet customer and company standards. This role requires strong leadership, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and technical document.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Direct and coordinate the activities of 5–7 employees in the inspection of manufactured goods.
Read and analyze production records, work orders, and schedules to determine inspection priorities.
Collaborate with other supervisors to coordinate operations across departments.
Inspect, test, or measure products and materials using tools such as calipers, micrometers, optical comparators, Sunnen gauges, and CMM machines (ability to program and operate CMM is a plus).
Review inspection results, identify non-conformities, and recommend corrective actions.
Demonstrate proper equipment use and safety procedures to new hires and assist in their training.
Monitor equipment and production indicators to ensure quality standards are maintained.
Resolve employee issues in coordination with management.
Interpret specifications, blueprints, data sheets, and job orders for employees.
Reject or discard materials and products that do not meet required specifications.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES - Supervise a department of 5-7 employees.
QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Able to read and interpret customers’ blueprints and specifications proficiently. Excellent mathematics, computer, and communication skills. ISO 9001 experience – certification a plus. Strong Supervisory skills. Knowledge and ability to use calipers, micrometers, optical comparator, Sunnen gauges, CMM machines (program and operate).
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Associates degree and 3-5 years experience in Q.A. discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Machine Shop – Job Shop. Fast paced.
