The Opportunity:
We are seeking a strategic and hands-on Senior Finance Operations Manager to lead the university’s financial operations. This critical leadership role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, enjoys working closely with leadership, and brings a strong command of both fiscal strategy and day-to-day financial management.
This is an on-site position based in our San Diego office. We believe that face-to-face collaboration is essential to drive innovation, cross-functional communication, and rapid problem-solving as we grow.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes across all departments.
Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for senior leadership and the Board of Directors.
Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations including Title IV, accreditation requirements, and Veterans Affairs funding protocols.
Oversee audits and maintain complete, accurate financial documentation.
Manage daily accounting functions including AP/AR, reconciliations, and collections.
Collaborate with leadership to evaluate new initiatives, provide ROI analysis, and support strategic priorities.
Identify process improvements and implement cost-saving measures that maintain financial integrity.
Supervise and mentor the Finance Manager and other staff, cultivating a culture of accountability and excellence.
Perform other duties as assigned in support of the university’s goals.
Qualifications:
Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Minimum 5–7 years of progressive financial leadership experience; higher education experience strongly preferred.
Demonstrated expertise in budget management, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar.
Experience with Student Information Systems (e.g., CampusVue) and knowledge of Title IV financial aid processes.
CPA or CMA certification is a strong plus.

Compensation & Benefits
Salary: $80,000–$90,000 annually (commensurate with experience)
