Insight Global is seeking a qualified Civil Engineer who will focus on Stormwater/Wastewater design projects for an engineering consulting firm in the Columbus, OH area. The primary focus of this position is to engineer, design, and manage natural gas utility projects for UTI’s clients. Aside from typical utility design, the position will also be expected to support other projects within the civil engineering discipline such as land development, surveying, geotechnical, structural, etc. The position will work hand-in-hand with civil and mechanical engineers, designers, surveyors, GIS professionals, and environmental consultants to execute most projects. This position, as well as the engineers and designers, will have direct oversight from the Engineering Manager. Responsibilities include:
Natural gas/Stormwater/Wastewater design, including:
o Design of horizontal directional drills
o Specification of materials and equipment
o Quantity takeoffs
o Preparation of operation plans and procedures
o Gas system modeling
o Attend client meetings
Construction management, including:
o Development of bid specifications and bid documents
o Management or supporting bidding processes
o Project and construction support and/or management
o Construction site visits
o Material and equipment quoting and ordering
o Preparation of RFI responses
Qualifications
3-8 years experience as a practicing civil or civil-adjacent engineer
Experience with Water/Wastewater/Stormwater design
Proficiency with land development processes.
3+ years of experience in AutoCAD
Bachelor’s degree from an ABET-accredited program
Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certificate
Compensation: $90,000 to $140,000 per year annual salary.
