Contract Duration: 1 year

Pay: 45-65/hr W2

Job Description: Civil Structural Engineer

Insight Global is looking for a Civil Structural Engineer to join the top investor-owned energy company in the US. This company offers a wide range of energy-related products and services to various customers, including renters, residential owners, small and medium-sized businesses, commercial and industrial entities, and community affairs. It operates one of the world's largest energy delivery systems, covering clean energy, electric, gas, and steam services.

This engineer will be joining the Central Engineering division to support substation projects across NYC and Westchester County. The candidate will be responsible for overseeing and maintaining various components and structures within electrical substations. The candidate will be instrumental in all stages of the engineering cycle, overseeing design concepts, reviewing engineering packages, and providing technical expertise.

Responsibilities include managing multiple projects, and communicating with multiple stakeholders and departments, at various stages of the lifecycle, from initiation to execution of architectural and civil works. The candidate will handle substation work requests, including repairs, new structures, rehabilitation, and modifications. They will provide technical solutions for civil structure issues like roof repairs, drainage, column and beam modifications, slab repairs, and masonry. The candidate will develop engineering packages and designs, work with internal and external teams, and oversee projects through to completion, including the construction phase.

Must-Have Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, preferably with a focus on structural engineering.

3-8 years of experience in industrial utilities, manufacturing, power manufacturing companies, or commercial properties.

Familiarity with field hazards and facilities-type environments.

Proficiency in AutoCAD, Tekla, SAP, and other design software, along with the ability to interpret analysis output

Knowledge of application codes such as ACI, AISC, NESC, ASCE, NYC Building Code, etc.

Knowledge in the design of concrete, masonry and steel structures
