Our client, a leader in electric utility industry, is looking to for a Power System Engineer. This role will be fully onsite in Taylor, TX.

As a Power System Engineer you will provide electrical engineering analysis and technical support for the future planning of the electric power system. You will bring your experience to perform system studies, analyze simulated and actual operating results, and develop solutions and recommendations.
Required Skills & Experience
1+ years of experience in in electrical engineering analysis
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
Desired Skills & Experience
Experience with Python, VBA, or another programming language
Working experience using TARA or PowerGEM software
Experience creating queries in Access, Oracle, SQL
Experience running transfer analysis systems and/or running power system load flow in PSSE
Prior experience in utilities, oil and gas, electric utilities, or related industry highly preferred!
What You Will Be Doing
Analyze transmission network data including Transmission and Generation element parameters
Analyze simulated power system studies and compare to actual operating data, ensuring compliance with applicable standards
Perform power flow studies as required to analyze the feasibility of proposed generation interconnections
Review and develop methods to increase model accuracy including data comparisons and validity checks
Communicate requirements and results to internal and external stakeholders
