We are seeking a Controls and Electrical Drafting Engineer to support the development and delivery of control system design packages. This role focuses on drafting high-quality control system schematics, panel layouts, and architecture diagrams using AutoCAD Electrical. Responsibilities also include maintaining drafting standards, managing AutoCAD Electrical databases/catalogs, and contributing to automation and customization initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Create and modify control system schematics, layout drawings, and assembly diagrams using AutoCAD Electrical.
Develop standard electrical drawings, including cabinet layouts, BOMs, and assembly instructions.
Implement scripts and automation features within AutoCAD Electrical to enhance design productivity.
Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure accurate and timely drafting support for retrofit projects.
Interpret and apply knowledge of power distribution and control architecture to design documents.
Produce control system architecture diagrams, network topology layouts, and panel outlines.
Maintain and update electrical drafting standards, catalogs, and databases.
Support troubleshooting and provide documentation expertise during control system development and commissioning.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Instrumentation, or Controls Engineering, or at least 5 years of relevant drafting experience.
Proficient in AutoCAD Electrical, with the ability to implement custom tools, scripts, and templates.
Minimum 3 years’ experience in an engineering or technical drafting environment.
Solid understanding of industrial control systems and electrical connections.
Effective written and verbal communication skills in both individual and group settings.
Experience in panel design and electrical layout drafting.
Strong analytical and collaborative problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and shift focus as needed.
