ComResource is looking for a Data Engineer.
We need someone to assist in calculating FDIC insurance at the customer and bank levels using traditional and modern data engineering tools. This role requires a technical professional who can also act as a subject matter expert (SME) for business logic around FDIC 370.
Responsibilities:
Design, construct, install, test, and maintain data management systems.
Build high-performance algorithms, predictive models, and prototypes.
Ensure systems meet both business requirements and industry standards.
Integrate modern data technologies into existing data structures.
Develop processes for data mining, modeling, and production.
Create custom software components and analytics applications.
Research and propose new uses for existing data.
Employ a variety of tools and languages to connect systems.
Collaborate with data architects, IT, and data scientists to achieve project goals.
Implement and update disaster recovery procedures.
Recommend ongoing improvements for data reliability and quality.
Essentials:
Technical degree or relevant work experience.
Strong SQL skills—this is a SQL-heavy role.
Experience with relational and non-relational databases (e.g., SQL, MySQL, NoSQL, Hadoop, MongoDB).
Understanding of backend programming (e.g., Java, J2EE).
Analytical mindset with strong communication skills.
Business logic understanding for FDIC 370 compliance.
Driven, curious, and positive attitude.
Desired:
Experience with IBM DB2 and DataStage.
Familiarity with modern data tools like Snowflake and DBT.
