Job Title: Cost Analyst

Location: Dallas, TX (Hybrid – In-office Monday, Tuesday, Thursday)

Employment Type: Full-time

Salary Range: $90,000 – $110,000 annually

Work Environment: Hybrid (local candidates only)

About the Role:

We are seeking a Cost Analyst with a strong background in inventory cost accounting to support a growing manufacturing finance team. This is a hybrid position based in Dallas, TX, requiring strong analytical capabilities, cross-functional collaboration, and a detail-oriented mindset to drive financial accuracy and operational efficiency.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in purchase price variance, raw material forecasting, and familiarity with bill of materials (BOM) and inventory processes in a food or manufacturing environment. This role offers the opportunity to contribute directly to cost strategy, process improvement, and forecasting operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Costing & Financial Analysis

Assist with BOM maintenance and cost standard updates.

Analyze purchase prices, trends, and variances.

Support month-end close with journal entries and reconciliations.

Investigate and report inventory losses and cost drivers.

Contribute to raw material budgeting and forecasting.

Inventory & ERP Support

Maintain data integrity within Microsoft Dynamics 365.

Document inventory-related internal controls and procedures.

Validate process adherence and assist with inventory audits.

Operational Support & Reporting

Produce reporting on cost of goods manufactured (COGM) and sold (COGS).

Provide ad-hoc analysis to support operations and engineering teams.

Cross-train on financial analyst tasks to provide backup coverage.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related technical field.

5+ years of experience in an accounting or finance role, preferably in manufacturing.

Strong experience with inventory costing and variance analysis.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, nested formulas, logical functions).

Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (or similar ERP) is a plus.

Familiarity with Power BI, Power Automate, VBA, or Office Scripts is preferred.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to manage multiple tasks independently in a fast-paced environment.
