Morales Professional Services is currently conducting a search for an FP&A Manager/Controller for an Aerospace and Defense manufacturing company located near Torrance, CA. With decades of delivering highly engineered products in a demanding aerospace and defense environments, this company is growing and looking for high impact, high energy finance professional!
POSITION SUMMARY:
Provide oversight and direction for the financial analysis and accounting operations in the organization. As an individual contributor, reporting to the General Manager, this role will have functional oversight over financial analysis and planning, production of financial reports and maintenance of accounting records, working collaboratively with Corporate Accounting Shared Services.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop & improve financial revenue & cost models to support decision making processes related to forecasting, budgeting and long-term planning.
Assist in the preparation and review the annual operating budget and periodic forecasts including income statement, balance sheets, and statement of cash flows.
Analyze financial & KPI data to identify potential risks and opportunities, make recommendations and report on financial performance, & maintain clear and consistent communication to manage expectations and report findings to the General Manager.
Drive the month end close reporting process in collaboration with Corporate Shared Services accounting team members, providing analytics on KPI & financial results to leadership.
Manage Inventory and Cost Accounting and Revenue Recognition, ensuring all financial and accounting transactions are processed to an appropriate standard.
Refine, maintain and develop recommendations to management to ensure the integrity of operating standard cost system by performing a range of costing analysis and reporting.
Manage capital projects and forecast cash flow impact.
Prepare and review a full set of financial statements, with careful accounting and analysis and make recommendations to improve business operations based on thorough analysis with CFO and General Manager.
Review accruals and provisions on a periodic basis.
Lead auxiliary and subsidiary accounts reconciliations.
Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to provide interpretation of reports and analysis findings.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting. Minimum 8 years in aerospace and defense manufacturing accounting with a strong focus on forecasting, variance analysis, and inventory cost accounting. Important attributes to bring to position:
Experience in government contracting ( aerospace & defense ) and FAR/DCAA requirements a plus, but not required.
Strong background in MS Excel and accounting/financial reporting systems (PowerBI)
Experience with SOX compliance.
Demonstrated history of continuous improvement that helps reduce costs while optimizing processes and the development of internal controls.
This will be an onsite position for first 3 months, then the possibility of it being a hybrid role once trust is built!
